Jenny Moodie Design was born in 2010, in Edinburgh, Scotland. However when I relocated to the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia in 2016 I began creating work inspired by my new surroundings .

  I discovered I could combine traditional and modern techniques to achieve unique outcomes in my artwork and transfer these on to various paper goods. 

I am fascinated by animals and plants, but even more so the patterns, textures and colours created by nature. 

 As a child I loved the changing of the seasons, foraging for natures "treasures" in a local park or woodland. Or a wet windy day at the seaside beach combing. Nothing much has changed, just that I'm now on the other side of the w

 As a child I loved the changing of the seasons, foraging for natures "treasures" in a local park or woodland. Or a wet windy day at the seaside beach combing. Nothing much has changed, just that I'm now on the other side of the world.

  I will happily wander outdoors for hours on end absorbing inspiration and taking far too many photos. Drawing is my relaxation, I can quite easily lose track of time!   

I have tried many mediums over the years but keep coming back to a simple graphite pencil which allows me to work in great detail. 

I'll always remember at the age of 14 getting told off by my art teacher for not being messy enough in an abstract painting class. At that age I had already found my style and it wasn't messy!

I have tried many mediums over the years but keep coming back to a simple graphite pencil which allows me to work in great detail. 

I'll always remember at the age of 14 getting told off by my art teacher for not being messy enough in an abstract painting class. At that age I had already found my style and it wasn't messy!

Now I begin my creations using a woodless pure graphite pencil on smooth layout paper. I then scan the drawing and digitally colour it across several layers in Photoshop. The final outcome being digitally printed.
